Silica-manganese slag cover dry slag and wet grain slag, and the recovering treatment can be almost the same. The slag lumpy size of dry slag is big with high alloy content and uneven alloy granules. It needs two phases crushing to liberate the alloy from the smelting slag. The wet grain slag is small, usually sand and some small blocks with low alloy content. And generally one crushing can be ok to liberate the alloy from slag. No matter dry slag or wet grain slag, the liberated alloy granules shall be recovered by gravity separation.

The flow sheet of dry slag is rough crushing-fine crushing-jigging-dewatering while the flow sheet of wet drain slag is fine crushing-jigging-dewatering, so the setup of the silica-manganese smelting slag is made according to the slag. A regular processing line can be used to recovery silica-manganese alloy from both dry slag and wet grain slag.
