Application:

Magnetic separation is used to separate materials of different magnetism difference. It is widely used in separation of kinds of strong and weak magnetic material like magnetite, titanic magnetite, magnetite pyrite, also called pyrrhotite, ilmenite, martite, hematite, specularite, siderite, limonite, manganese ore of pyrolusite & psilomelane, and wolframite.

Introduction:

Magnetic separation separates according to the magnetic force and gravity force. The magnetic force is up to magnetic ore itself and the magnetic field while the non-magnetism material is mainly affected by mechanical force. Both materials move along different routes.

There are different magnetic separators for material of different magnetism. Weak magnetic separators are used for strong magnetic material like magnetite, titanic magnetite, magnetite pyrite while the medium magnetic separators are mainly to separate material of medium magnetism like titanic magnetite, magnetite pyrite, and intensity magnetic separators are mainly to used to upgrade ore of weak magnetic materials like hematite, specularite, siderite, limonite, manganese ore of pyrolusite & psilomelane, and wolframite.

Magnetic separation has been widely used and all poor magnetite shall be dealt with by weak magnetic separator, usually permanent magnetic separator after rough milling. The concentrate from first magnetic separation will go for milling again and then magnetic separation for the second separation. The magnetite after crushing can be rough separated by magnetic pulley to remove the gangue or surrounding rock. The weak magnetic hematite iron can be upgraded by weak magnetic separator after roasting of rotary kiln. Intensity magnetic separator can be used to beneficiate most of manganese ore and wolframite. (PS: jig gravity separation can be work for most of weak magnetic ore like hematite iron ore, manganese ore and tungsten upgrading.)
