Gold Separation from Manual Panning to Morden Machanical Concentration

There is hand selection, panning equipment ( gold washng pan),  jigging gravity separation, amalgamation enrichment, shaking table concentration, spiral chute extraction, and during these mining beneficiation methods, the jigging gravity enrichment is most economic.

Hand selection for gold ore is the original separation method for gold concentrating. And gold panning method is usually used like situation of washing rice. This method needs no plant investment with small handling capacity and it needs a lot of human power, and seldom used now.

Gold jigging concentration uses water as medium, concentrating gold on basic of density difference between gold and other gangue. This method can help to get high grade gold concentrate with its large handling capacity, high recovery rate, water-recycling, and it is welcome by many gold factories.

Shaking table enrichment for gold ore works similarly to that of jigging separation. It enriches gold on a tilting bed, through its feeding slot. The ore granules will do alternative movement on effect of gravity force and water washing force. The gold granules and the gangue will separate to different layers to get the final gold concentrate.

Spiral chute extraction for gold ore works in the spiral chute, and it belongs to slope washing separation. But here spiral chute uses the centrifugal force when pulp does cycle movement to separate light and heavy material discharging both tailings and concentrate continuously. The chute capacity is large, but the recovery rate s low, with huge gold loss.

Placer gold ore separation in China adopts chute, jig machine, or shaking table as rough separation with tailings deserting directly and recovery rate over 98%. Shaking table will be used as fine selection machine for concentrate from jigger and chute. Electric-separation, inner amalgamation can be used to get finery gold concentrate.

Inner amalgamation separation needs milling to liberate the gold from other gangue and get the semi-solid concentrate of mercury and gold. If there is little of copper, lead, zinc and there is no sulfide to powder the mercury, amalgamation can work well to get high grade gold concentrate.

Amalgamation barrel can rotary adjustably and the rotary time can depend on gold ore material and usually it is 1-2hours. Amalgamator can not work non-stopped and the operation consists of material loading, rotary operation, and material unloading. The Amalgam from the amalgamator shall be washed, filtered, and distilled to get gold of +85% Au.
