Brief introduction of barite beneficiation

The barite beneficiation production line is a system for beneficiation and purification of raw barite ore. Generally, the equipment configuration  includes crusher, vibrating screen, conveyor, silo, feeder, dewatering screen ，etc. Forui Machinery Factory has rich experience in  barite beneficiation process and we'd like to share our experience to you for reference.

The main component of barite is barium sulfate, which has very important uses in counterweights, oil wells, and chemical industries. However, the raw barite ore must be beneficiated because its specific gravity is difficult to meet industrial requirements.

Barite beneficiation production line

The barite beneficiation production line has strict technical requirements. The raw barite ore needs to be crushed, sieved (for the barite mine with a large mud content, it is necessary to increase the washing process), jigging, dewatering. The general beneficiation process includes rough crushing-washing-screening-jigging-dewatering.

Barite has a large particle size and cannot be sieved directly, so it needs to be crushed, since barite is brittle , it is easy to produce lots of powdery materials during the crushing process and reduce the recovery rate .Therefore, jaw crusher should be used as the main crushing equipment in the process of barite beneficiation.

After crushing, the barite is washed and sieved, and then sent to the jig machine for separation.

The jig machine is a mineral processing equipment that sorts according to specific gravity. It can effectively discard the waste rock associated with barite but with a small specific gravity.Then barite concentrate is obtained.The barite concentrate and tailings after jig machine are discharged out of the machine with a large amount of water, so dewatering operations of concentrates and tailings are also required, and the dewatered materials can be directly stored or transported.
