Copper Gravity Separation Mining Site in the Philippines

 
The main beneficiation way for copper ore is floatation separation. For both copper sulfide and copper oxide, floatation separation can help to get ideal beneficiation standard. However, the plant investment of floatation separation for copper ore is large with high operation cost. This floatation separation is not suitable for some low grade copper ore. Gravity separation can upgrade roughly the copper content with its small plant investment, low production cost and high upgrading efficiency. The upgraded copper concentrate can go for floatation separation for further enrichment. The combination of gravity separation and floatation separation can lower the
floatation investment and enlarge the handling capacity making ore selectable. The following is about the copper processing line in Philippines designed by Forui.

The copper ore in the Philippines is copper sulfide of low grade with coarse inlay size. The copper granules can be dissociated from the gangue by crushing and screening. Gravity jigging separation can remove large quantity of material without copper content. Here gravity separation is a preselection process of copper ore to guarantee the recovery and enlarge the handling capacity. So for the following floatation separation, the plant investment and operation cost will be much lower when first separated by gravity separation comparing that when no gravity separation and direct floatation separation. This copper ore processing flow chart adopts jaw crusher and impact crusher to crush and spiral washing machine for washing, and then copper jig separator for gravity separation. Three trapezoidal jiggers has been used to get rough separation. This kind of jiggers have four independent jigging slots and can help to get great upgrading efficiency for 0-8mm ore with its high recovery rate and large treatment capacity. The concentrate can be 1-3% of TCu from 0.3-0.8% TCu raw copper ore, and then the floatation separation can be used to upgrade the copper content.

The copper content is becoming lower with the long time exploiting. Some copper mines are even not worthwhile to investment for floatation separation. Here gravity separation can help to change this situation by removing most gangue without copper with small investment of plants. The combination of gravity separation and floatation separation can be the ideal choice for the low content coarse inlay copper ore.
