ANTIMONY ORE BENEFICIATION EQUIPMENT TO IMPROVE LOW GRADE ANTIMONY

Flow sheet of hand-selection--gravity separation or floatation separation is usually adopted by the beneficiation factories for antimony sulfide while for antimony oxide, hand-selection and gravity separation will be involved. 

The ore form and its composition, natures of chemical and physical decide the beneficiation methods of antimony ores. The main upgrading methods for antimony ore at this moment cover hand-selection, gravity separation, and floatation separation. 

1.  Gravity separation

Gravity separation can work for most of antimony ores because the big density & course granularity of the antimony concentrate makes it easy to separate the gangue by gravity separation for both single antimony sulfide and ore mixed with antimony sulfide and oxide. Gravity separation is the only way to get the coarse granularity antimony concentrate with its low plant cost. The main machine involved in gravity separation is the jigger and sometimes shaking table can be involved.
 
2.  floatation separation

Floatation separation is the main beneficiation method for the antimony separation because antimony sulfide is very easy to float, so high-grade concentrate can be got. Lead salt or copper salt will work as activator then collector will be used to float the concentrate. Usually, xanthate or mixture of shale oil & B sulfur nitrogen will work as collector while pine oil or 2nd oil works as blowing agent. But for the antimony oxide, it is hard to float, so gravity separation is mainly used.
 
Gravity separation is adopted for most of the antimony ore because of its big density and coarse granularity size to make the gravity separation good enrichment efficiency. The density of the stibnite is 4.6 while that of the gangue is 2.6, so stibnite is very easy to separate by gravity separation. Jigger is one of the gravity separation machines widely used for stibnite separation.

Jigging gravity separation separates based on the density difference of the concentrate & the gangue with its great enrichment efficiency & large handling capacity.
 
Jigger can deal with a large range of size and is friendly to environment with high cost performance, so it is the ideal separator for stibnite ore. For some antimony hard to separate, jigging gravity separation can only work as the pre-separation of floatation separation, especially for the antimony oxide, jigging concentration is almost the only way to get final concentrate.
